Educational objectives

Core objectives The Department of Environmental Engineering aims to cultivate democratic citizens with sound character while developing leaders who can adapt to rapidly changing future societies and contribute to human societal development. It seeks to lead sustainable development where humans and nature can coexist, and to cultivate internationally recognized environmental experts who can actively and rationally solve various environmental problems that continuously arise around us.
Detailed objectives
  • 1. Research on advanced treatment technologies

    • - Through research and consideration of various pollution phenomena occurring in the energy sector due to human activities, the department studies methods to purify pollutants using physical, chemical, and biological means and develops pollution prevention/treatment technologies, further researching optimal control technologies that consider economic feasibility.
  • 2. Research on new technologies for environmental pollution prevention and treatment

    • - Identifying pollutants from natural systems, human life, and industrial processes, the department researches new technologies to fundamentally control the generation of pollutants and predicts the movement and behavior of pollutants released into the natural environment to minimize potential damage from pollution.
  • 3. Research on sustainable environmental management technologies

    • - The department aims to develop technologies from post-pollution treatment to pre-pollution prevention through environmental new technology development and cultivates the ability to apply developed technologies appropriately to optimal facilities, contributing to global environmental conservation.
Research areas Basic field research, treatment field research, design field research
Integration and differentiation plan with the undergraduate program In the graduate program, the focus is on developing more efficient processes than existing treatment processes and developing new technologies, conducting systematic research-centered lectures to perform world-class research.
