Educational objectives

Core objectives Statistics is a discipline that scientifically analyzes and infers various data and information related to natural phenomena, social phenomena, and economic phenomena. The Department of Statistics and Data Science aims to cultivate statistical experts with advanced knowledge in statistical theory and application fields to meet societal needs.
Detailed objectives

Focusing on sampling theory, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, as well as queuing theory and insurance-related majors to pursue distinctiveness from other departments

  • 1. Acquisition of statistical expertise: Learning advanced statistics and probability theory
  • 2. Development of advanced statistical application skills: Cultivating statistical application skills for solving real-world problems, acquiring big data and data mining techniques to analyze large datasets, and developing reasoning skills for complex phenomena through machine learning and AI theory
  • 3. Cultivating computer-related skills for statistical experts: Acquiring the ability to process large datasets through databases and implementing statistical methods using various computer languages
