1. Application Schedule

Document Screening : April 7 (Tue), 2026

 

Announcement of Document Screening Results : April 9 (Thu), 2026 (Individual notification)

 

Oral Examination : April 14 (Tue), 2026


Announcement of Oral Examination ResultsApril 28 (Tue), 2026 (Individual notification)

 

Second-round Selection : In accordance with the schedule of the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) (Evaluation by NIIED)

 

Final Results Announcement : June 30 (Tue), 2026 (Tentative) (Announced by NIIED)

 

 ※ All required application documents must be submitted to the admissions officer by the document submission deadline (KST).

 

 

 

2. Eligibility

 

Nationality : must hold the nationality of a country invited under the GKS program.

 

Academic Background

 

 - Master’s Program: Applicants who have obtained or are expected to obtain a bachelor’s degree

 

 - Doctoral Program: Applicants who have obtained or are expected to obtain a master’s degree


  ※ Applicant's academic degrees must be from official and authorized educational institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education of the applicant's home country.

 

Academic Performance : A converted score of 80% or higher, or Placement within the top 20% of the class(cumulative academic record for all years of their most recently completed degree program)

 

Age

 

- Under 40 years old (born on or after September 1, 1986)

 

- Under 45 years old (born on or after September 1, 1981) for current faculty members holding the nationality of ODA recipient countries.

 

 

 

3. Application Submission and Required Documents

 

A. Application Form : the application forms provided on the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) website or the attached file

                              (Appendix 4. 2026 GKS-G Application Forms).

 

B. Application Period : February 23 (Mon) March 20 (Fri), 2026

 

C. Submission Method : In-person submission or submission by postal mail

 

D. Required Documents : an original copy of each required documents

 

- Documents written in English (or Korean): Must be submitted with Apostille certification or consular confirmation.

 

- Documents written in the applicant’s local language (other than English):

 

Both the original document in the local language and its notarized English (or Korean) translation must be submitted.

 

Either the original document or the notarized translation must be authenticated with an Apostille or consular confirmation.
