[Field Lecture] Britain in Joseon: British Architecture Sets Foot in Joseon

What was the first Western-style building constructed in Jeong-dong, the heart of modern architecture in Seoul? It was the British Legation.

Jeong-dong has an unusually rich concentration of architecture connected with Britain, including Seoul Anglican Cathedral, the Salvation Army Hall, and Seokjojeon Hall at Deoksugung Palace.

Autumn is when Jeong-dong is at its most beautiful. Come and experience the rich history and atmosphere of Seoul as you walk through this historic neighborhood.

This English-language field lecture is organized by the University of Seoul Museum for international university students in Seoul. As a special part of the program, the British Embassy will open its garden to participants.
